First, you must choose a job and class, and you can optionally customise many appearance variables such as your character's hair, etc. In FFXIV, you play a character which is greatly customized when you start the game.
It is available on PC, PlayStation 3/4, Mac, and will eventually be released on Xbox One. Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG that was released in 2013.
